About the Founder
Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Panhwar, the visionary founder of the Dr. G.M. Panhwar Institute of Knowledge, Learning, and Skills, was born on 15 March 1932 in the quaint village of Haji Hamzo Panhwar near Girhor Sharif, Sindh. From humble beginnings, he embarked on an extraordinary educational journey that would shape his legacy as a beacon of hope for the underprivileged.
His early education began in a Madrasa in Village Malook Pahore, where he studied under the guidance of the renowned Maulana Muhammad Hassan Pahore. Excelling academically, he completed his Matriculation at Noor Muhammad High School in Hyderabad. Fueled by a dream to become a doctor, he pursued his Intermediate in Pre-Medical at D.J. Science College Karachi, achieving outstanding results. His ambition led him to Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) Hyderabad, where he earned his prestigious M.B.B.S. degree.
Eager to expand his expertise, Dr. Panhwar traveled to London, where he completed specialized qualifications including LRCP, MRCS, and DCMT, setting a benchmark of excellence in the medical field.
Throughout his career, he served as a Medical Officer across various cities in Sindh, including Larkana, Mirpurkhas, Karachi, Shahpur Chakar, and Islamkot, touching countless lives with his dedication and care.
During his time in London, Dr. Panhwar’s generosity knew no bounds. For over 20 years, he offered free accommodation in his two-bedroom flat to students from Sindh, Pakistan, who were pursuing Medicine or Ph.D. programs. This act of kindness alleviated financial burdens for many, allowing them to focus on their academic pursuits.
A staunch advocate for education and community development, Dr. Panhwar turned his focus toward his homeland. Recognizing the barriers to education faced by rural communities, he founded the Dr. G.M. Panhwar Institute of Knowledge, Learning, and Skills in Mustafa Abad, his native village. This institute stands as a testament to his commitment to providing quality education and shelter to impoverished individuals, fostering hope and opportunity where it was needed most.
Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Panhwar passed away on 29 June 2012, leaving behind a legacy defined by selfless service, unwavering compassion, and a transformative impact on countless lives. His dedication to empowering the underserved through education and medical care remains an inspiration for generations to come.
