Dr. G.M. Panhwar Institute of Knowledge, Learning & Skills (“the Institute,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website https://drgmpanhwarinstitute.org (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the Site, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We only collect information that you voluntarily provide to us through the specific features of the Site described below. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
1.1 Contact Form
When you submit an inquiry through our Contact page, we collect the information you enter (such as your name, email address, and message) so that we can respond to you. This form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA to prevent spam and automated abuse.
1.2 Donations
Our Site does not process online payments or collect any card, bank login, or financial account credentials.
To make a donation, you transfer funds directly to our institutional bank account (Habib Bank Limited) and then submit a confirmation form on our Donation page, which includes:
- Your name and contact details
- A screenshot of your bank transaction (uploaded by you)
This information is used solely to verify and acknowledge your donation, and to maintain our internal donation records. It is not shared with third parties except where required for our own accounting or legal obligations.
1.3 Alumni Portal (Registration & Membership)
If you register for our Alumni Portal, we collect:
- Username, email address, and password (your password is stored in encrypted/hashed form and is never visible to us in plain text)
- Profile details you choose to provide, such as your name, a short “About Me” description, contact number, and professional interests
Some of these profile fields are, by design, visible to other members or the public depending on the visibility setting you select at registration (e.g., “Everyone,” “Only Me,” “All Members,” or “My Friends”). You are in control of who sees this information and can adjust these settings at any time from your profile.
1.4 Forums, Groups & Activity Feed
If you participate in Alumni Portal forums, groups, or the activity feed, any posts, comments, or content you submit are visible to other registered members (and, depending on group settings, potentially the public). Please do not post sensitive personal information in these public community areas.
1.5 Automatically Collected Information
Like most websites, our Site (built on WordPress) may automatically log standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited. This is used only for security, troubleshooting, and maintaining the normal functioning of the Site — not for advertising or tracking purposes.
1.6 Cookies
The Site uses essential cookies required for core functionality, such as keeping you logged in to the Alumni Portal. We do not currently use the Site for third-party advertising or marketing cookie tracking.
2. Third-Party Services We Use
We rely on a small number of trusted third-party services to operate the Site. These services may process limited technical data (such as your IP address) according to their own privacy policies:
- Google reCAPTCHA — used on our Contact and Donation forms to prevent spam and bot submissions. Subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Google Maps — embedded on our Contact page to show our location. Subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Social Media Links — links to our Facebook, Twitter/X, and LinkedIn pages are provided for your convenience. We do not collect any data from these platforms; your interactions there are governed by each platform’s own privacy policy.
We do not use third-party advertising networks or sell visitor data to marketers.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect only to:
- Respond to inquiries submitted through our Contact form
- Verify and record donations
- Create and manage your Alumni Portal account and profile
- Operate community features (forums, groups, activity feed) that you choose to participate in
- Maintain the security and proper functioning of the Site
- Communicate with you about Institute activities, if you have provided contact details for that purpose
4. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- With service providers strictly necessary to operate the Site (e.g., our hosting provider), who are bound to handle data securely
- If required by law, regulation, or a valid legal request from Pakistani authorities
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of the Institute, our members, or the public
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy — for example, donation records are kept for our accounting purposes, and Alumni Portal account information is kept for as long as your account remains active. You may request account deletion or data removal at any time using the contact details below.
6. Children’s Information
Admissions to our educational programs are handled entirely offline, in person, using physical forms at our institute — we do not collect any student or minor’s personal information through this website. The Alumni Portal is intended for alumni, staff, and members of the community. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children through the Site.
7. Your Rights & Choices
You may, at any time:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your Alumni Portal account and associated data
- Adjust the visibility of your Alumni Portal profile fields
- Withdraw consent for us to contact you (where applicable)
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 9.
8. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information you share with us, including encrypted password storage and reCAPTCHA-protected forms. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
